Holiday Bread Baking With The Superstone® Covered Baker

Posted by

Are you still baking for the holidays? Okay, that was a joke. Of course you are! I don’t know about you, but the holidays are hands down my favorite time to bake! I just love how amazing my kitchen smells when the oven is busy baking all of my favorite breads for the holidays!

In addition to enjoying breads and the deliciousness scents in my home, I also love to entertain for the holidays and give the gift of holiday breads to my friends and family.

When it comes to holiday baking, what breads make your all time top list? I honestly can’t list all of the breads that top my list because I am a bread fanatic and I have yet to find a bread I don’t like.

Seriously. I love all the breads! That being said, I do have some particular breads that I prefer to enjoy during the holiday season as they just seem to enhance that wonderful holiday feeling a little more.

Holiday Baking and Entertaining

Because I love you all so much and I know you love delicious and authentic breads just as much as I do, I wanted to share a couple of my favorite delicious holiday bread recipes with you and share some tips for making the most delicious holiday breads.

Apricot Oatmeal Bread

Okay, let’s be real here, this isn’t a holiday recipe, not even a little bit, but it is delicious. The apricots and currants mingle together to create a sweetened dough that holds moisture in well.

Traditional French Bread

I love making traditional French Bread for the holidays because it can literally go with almost anything! I have paired traditional French Bread with breakfast, lunch and dinner, so when I say it goes with anything, I’m not joking! I especially love enjoying it with soups and stews topped with melted butter. For a new twist though, I recommend slicing it up and creating a deliciously thick French Toast with it.

French Toast made from Traditional French Bread is our family’s favorite Christmas Brunch treat.

Holiday Cranberry Nut Bread

Now we are getting into the REAL holiday bread! This Holiday Cranberry Nut Bread is a holiday favorite around our treat table and many others because it is so good.

With the sweet taste of the cranberries mixed with the crunchy nuts, you will struggle to eat just one piece of this delightful holiday bread.

Holiday Cinnamon Bread

This Holiday Cinnamon Bread is another bread loaf that just screams the holiday season! That delightful Cinnamon flavor that pairs well with holiday cocoa, coffee or even eggnog.

Superstone® Covered Baker

When it comes time for baking your delicious holiday bread, you know what you have to do. It’s time to break out your trusty old Sassafras bakeware, because, well, no other bakeware will do when you are preparing the best holiday breads to be enjoyed by your friends and family.

While for the most part, you can use any Sassafras bread baker for your holiday breads,we have found that the holiday cinnamon bread is best cooked in the Sassafras covered baker.

Covered baker information:

“the superstone® covered baker produces a spectacular italian, or oblong, loaf of bread! it’s unglazed interior pulls moisture from the dough, replicating the effects of a brick-lined oven to give you a light crumb and crusty exterior loaf. try roasting potatoes in the baker for crispy skins and a fluffy interior. if you’re a bread baker and enjoy baking different types and shapes of bread, this baker is terrific!”

Superstone® La Cloche

At the same time, the Cranberry Nut Bread always comes out just perfect when baked in the La Cloche. The late james beard wrote, "the bread i have been baking in it is nothing short of sensational." the la cloche® replicates a professional brick-lined oven, creating a bread with a light crumb and crusty exterior. truly, this product is a bread-lovers dream!

Serve it Up

If you need accessories for cutting and serving your pies, look no further–– Sassafras® has a wood-handled spatula and a silicone-handled spatula for all your baking needs.

This year has been hard enough, my friends! It is time to enjoy yourself, enjoy your family and enjoy the holidays and all that they have to offer, delicious bread included!
