Sassafras Toy Safety Commitment
At Sassafras, we fully understand consumer concerns regarding the safety of the products given our children and share your commitment in the manufacture of our products.
Our toy products are made at factories in China and have been voluntarily tested for both EN-71 and ASTM F963 standards at the highly-respected SGC or Intertek Labs in Hong Kong. It is there that they are tested for harmful substances such as lead, cadmium, barium, mercury, arsenic, chromium, antimony and selenium, as well as the safety of product parts for small children. In addition, our products are randomly tested once in the U.S. to ensure that they comply with federal safety requirements. It is important for the consumer to recognize that it is possible to have high-quality products made in China by factories that are committed to product safety. It is in partnership with those factories that we have been able to produce products free of harmful substances that are safe for children.
Our kids baking kits are made with food components that are from the United States and that are FDA regulated. These food components are completely sealed upon arrival in our facility. The housewares components are tested to meet the requirements of the Food and Drug Administration. These kits are assembled at our own facility in Chicago, Illinois.
