Ringing In The New Year With Style

Posted by

Well, we are rapidly approaching Christmas and soon it will be time to celebrate the New Year. I’m not sure that I have ever been more excited to welcome the New Year as I am this year and I know many people are feeling the same thanks to the crazy year that we have all made it through.

I know that circumstances this year dictate that our New Year’s celebration is going to be smaller than normal this year, but that’s okay! I am already planning it and honestly, I’m all about the changes this year.

Not that I don’t want things to be back to normal, but I happen to love change and I get super excited to plan when things are a little bit different. I like to keep it fresh and do everything I can to just put together a great celebration.

If you are looking to put a little celebration together for the New Year as well, look no further. You can ring in the New Year right with these entertaining tips!

Ringing In The New Year with Style

Decorate!

I love, love, love to decorate for celebrations! And lucky for us, a beautifully and elegantly decorated table doesn't have to cost a lot. I also personally prefer to use disposable decorative pieces, well because I also like to save time in my celebration planning and clean up. I really like to use disposable dishes, napkins and tablecloths in my decor.

Did you know that with the right tablecloth alone, you can create an awesome decorating theme for any type of celebration? You can!

While I love festive Christmas colors, I also love the fact that when it comes time to decorate for New Year’s, I can decorate in any colors and/or styles that I want.

We have some really great Airlaid Table Linens at Sassafras® that are beautiful and frankly, don’t look disposable at all! Here are some of my favorites for the holiday season:

Provenza

The Provenza napkins and table covers are absolutely beautiful! I love these because they match so well with white string lights, which I love to hang when celebrating New Year's.

Damascato

For a little more of a traditional look, you can go with the Damascato sets, which come in several different options, including table covers and napkins.

Mythos

If you are looking for more of an understated look, you are going to love the Mythos pattern. I like these because you can pair them up with your own decor.

Seta Spun

Another set that is very understated and great for pairing with other decor is the Seta Spun set, which comes in either pearl or sand. Here are the options:

Music!

Create yourself an awesome New Year’s playlist or try a pre-made streaming playlist, set it up with your Google Home or Amazon Echo and turn it up loud enough to hear it, but don’t turn it up so loud that you can hear conversation. We aren’t teenagers anymore, music that loud is no longer fun for any of us.

Food!

Okay, I know it’s no question, but just in case you were trying to remember what a great party needs, it is FOOD! That’s right. Food. The best parties have just the best foods! A great New Year’s party calls for some of our most popular recipes:

Breads - Check out one of our earlier blogs about holiday bread baking for a great list of delicious breads to make for your New Year’s party. I like to keep bread on hand with some delicious dipping sauces for guests to munch on.

Bread Spreads - Don’t forget to serve some delicious bread spreads with your delicious homemade bread. Here are some of our favorite recipes on our blog about the best bread spreads.

Charcuterie Boards - These boards are all the rage these days and perfect for parties, big or small! Wanna learn how? Click here for our tips on creating the perfect charcuterie board.

Pizza - If you plan to serve a meal at your New Year’s celebration. There is no better meal than pizza! Don’t you agree? Here are some of our very favorite pizza-making tips for making pizza time family time to help you ring in your celebration.

Follow these tips and your holiday get-together is bound to be a success!
