Sassafras Superstone® Deep Dish Pizza/Pie Baker





Superstone® Stoneware material heats evenly, producing a perfectly browned pie, pizza or bread crust. The unglazed interior pulls moisture from the dough, producing a light and flaky pie crust and perfectly textured pizza crust. Breads bake with a crackly crust and light interior crumb just like breads from your favorite artisan bakery!

  1. Made in China - How Disappointing!

    Our original stoneware Deep Dish developed a crack, so we chose to replace it. On the bottom of the original dish was the company name and location (Sassafrass, Evanston, Illinois). Easy to find you online, same location. We thought, Great! Something still made in USA. We happily ordered the replacement. Much to our dismay, the new dish no longer had "Evanston, Illinois" molded into the bottom, but in its place was "Made in China." Had we known (not apparent on your website), we would have looked elsewhere to see if we could find a USA-made equivalent. We know the old one worked great, haven't tried the new one yet, but trust it will work like the old USA-made dish, hence a generous 4 stars.

    Used one for pizza for about 20 years, it finally broke. Last year bought another still works great. Bought another as a spare because pizza wouldn’t be the same

    I broke the bottom of my Bread Cloche and have replaced it with this product. It works perfectly and contributes to excellent sour dough bread. I love it!

    Ordered this as a gift for my neighbor who has been borrowing mine for years. It’s perfect for fruit clafoutis...great dish for entertaining. And it develops some kind of patina over time that makes it almost non-stick.
