Table Decorating Tips for an Elegant Dinner
Posted by Candi on Nov 4th 2019
Thanksgiving is a few short weeks away and I don't know about you, but I am already in my planning stages. I host Thanksgiving at my house and while we are a relatively casual family, I do know that I want to make our holiday gathering special. Plus, I like to knock everyone's socks off every now and again! I figure a nice, elegant, dinner with beautifully decorated tables and dining room will do the trick.
If you like your Thanksgiving to be a little more casual, don't forget about Hannukah, Kwanzaa, Christmas, New Year's, and all of the other "just because" dinners that seem to happen more during the holiday season! There are plenty of reasons to prepare an elegant space for hosting a fantastic dinner for friends or family.
Luckily though, an elegantly decorated table doesn't mean you have to spend a fortune. It also doesn't mean you have to stress out about your tableclothes and napkins getting stained and being unusable (I mean, it's dinner, there will be spills, right?). Our tableclothes and napkins are nice enough to look like you spent a lot, but they are actually disposable! You don't have to stress about clean up!
Here at Sassafras, we have all you need to get your table ready for any holiday that you plan to celebrate! Here are just some ideas for each holiday.
If you are ready to put your holiday look together, here are our best Table Decorating Tips for an Elegant Dinner for the holidays:
The bollicine 39" table covers will look great. The matching bollicine napkins will be a nice touch too! And don’t forget to grab table runners!
Your best holiday look in bollincine:
- Thanksgiving - I think the pearl color would be great for matching up with other harvest colors such as burgundy.
- Christmas - Again, the pearl would be best here to match up with your other Christmas decor.
- Hannukah - The combination of blue and pearl would look great on your Hannukah dinner table.
- Kwanzaa - Stick with the pearl here too, it just goes with everything!
- New Year’s - One of my favorite things about New Year’s is the ability to decorate for it in any way you wish! Any colors work!
If you want to go a little more traditional, the Damascato sets will make any holiday table look great. Here are the options for these designs:
- damascato 39" table covers
- damascato 55" x 94" table covers
- damascato 63" x 87" table covers
- damascato napkins
Your best holiday look in damascato:
- Thanksgiving in either burgundy or champagne (or a mix of the two)
- Christmas - For Christmas, you could easily use the pearl, burgundy, or champagne. All of these look great for Christmastime either alone or paired together.
- Hannukah - Let’s stick with the pearl color for your table cover and grab some blue napkins to add some highlights to your table.
- Kwanzaa - Stick with the pearl for your table cover and then go crazy with the napkins. You can get burgundy, green, black and pearl. The combination of colors will create a beautiful holiday table.
- New Year’s - Again, go crazy with New Year’s! Any of our colors in the damascato series will look great.
If you are looking for a good base decor to center your own decor around, the mythos line is perfect. These only come in pearl and sand colors which are both an excellent base color for your table covers and napkins. It’s easy to throw in your own colorful decor to add accents and highlights.
Your best holiday look in mythos:
- Thanksgiving - Use the mythos table covers and napkins and highlight with some autumn colored centerpieces.
- Christmas - If you like simplicity, again, use the mythos table covers and napkins and place some poinsettias in the center of your table. Decor done!
- Hannukah - Okay, you get the point about using the mythos for table cover and napkins (in either color) and use a menorah or Hanukkah bush as highlight decor pieces.
- Kwanzaa - For Kwanzaa, I would probably stick with the pearl for your table cover and napkins and then decorate with other Kwanzaa decor pieces such as a candle set.
- New Year’s - Again, go crazy with New Year’s! Mythos is a perfect background design for New Year’s. Both pearl and sand make great base colors.
The Set Spun set is another one that is good for a good base decor This set also comes in just pearl and sand, which makes it really easy to add your own decor to add accent to these pretty pieces. This line is one of the best if you prefer simplicity in decorating.
Your best holiday look in seta spun:
- Thanksgiving - Use the seta spun table covers and napkins and add in some pops of color with an autumn colored flower bouquet.
- Christmas - Grab a seta spun table covers and napkins and place some poinsettias or even a pinecone centerpiece in the center of your table.
- Hannukah - For Hannukah, I would use the seta spun table cover in pearl and then i would pair it with blue napkins from the damascato set.
- Kwanzaa - For Kwanzaa, I would probably stick with the pearl for your table cover and napkins and then decorate with any other Kwanzaa decor pieces of your choice.
- New Year’s - the seta spun is a perfect base decor style for New Year’s!
