4 Overseas Traveling Tips for Families this Holiday Season

Posted by

With Thanksgiving travel plans only a couple of weeks away, many families will be traveling overseas this holiday season.  There are important tips to remember upon executing those travel plans to keep you and your family safe.  Here are those tips:

  1. Beware of Travel Scams-Unfortunately, there are many scams out there that you must be aware of before traveling overseas. One being Con Artists.  There are a lot of tricksters out there ready to rip you and your family off. Biggest tip to possibly prevent this just don't talk to anyone and be very cautious. For a complete list of scams out there visit Corporate Travel Safety.
  2. Have a Checklist in Place-From Visa information to common phrases for the country you are visiting, it's important to be organized.  For a complete checklist, visit Ordinary Traveler.  They have a great list on staying organized before you even board the airplane.
  3. Put Together an Airplane Survival Kit-This is awesome to have, especially when traveling with young children. I love This, That and Craft's idea for a survival kit.  From comfort and sleep to "just in case" items, these items are a great idea to bring along.
  4. Prepare your Child for Overseas Travel-When it comes to kids and airplane travel, it can become a very challenging experience.  It's important to prepare your child for traveling overseas to avoid any major headaches.  One good example would be to point out on a globe where exactly you will be flying to.  Since children are visual creatures, this would help them process the idea, especially based on their ages.  For 5 tips on how to prepare your child for overseas travel, visit Learn With Play at Home.
