Let's Learn More About the Superstone Bread Dome

Posted by

Hello, my friends! How are you doing? No, really. How are you doing? Things are weird lately and it’s perfectly okay to not be okay. It’s also perfectly okay to be doing great. There is no hard and fast rule here, we are all learning as we go. The one thing I have learned though, is that I am truly loving the time I have to cook.

Let’s face it. My typical schedule (and I’m sure yours as well), is incredibly busy and I tend to not ever have enough time. That means that most of the meals in my home are, while good, rushed. I simply don’t have the time to create the meals that I want to create. Now though, I have more time at home and I am trying my best to make the most of it. I am spending more time cooking than I probably have in my entire life and I love it. Don’t get me wrong, I love my awesome kitchen tools that make life easier, but there is nothing like the delicious meals that I make in my kitchen stoneware, like these bread domes.

When I first heard about bread domes, I guess I assumed that it was all about bread and while homemade bread is amazing, I want my kitchen tools to be useful for more than one purpose. I am all about multi-tasking and that’s one of the reasons why I love the bread domes so much.

I absolutely love to create family meals in the Superstone® Bread Dome, they have actually started to become our family favorites. With both a glazed and unglazed option, the possibilities are endless. The glazed bread dome is wonderful for meat dishes with lots of spices and flavors, the unglazed is great for breads and other like dishes.

If you are just now learning about bread domes and wondering whether or not you should get one, here are some answers to the questions that I know you have!

Why buy the Superstone® Bread Dome?

For the Food Aesthetics

Oh my goodness, if you love to bake a beautiful loaf of bread, you need a bread dome. A bread dome mimics a baker’s oven, which means a beautiful crust. The same is true for other foods like chicken and roast. The inside is moist, the outside lightly crisp and delicious.

For the Taste of the Food

It may be self explanatory, but with the beautiful exterior also comes a delicious taste. Don’t you just love a crisp, chewy crust on your soft bread? And a crisp outer layer of chicken or roast means that it does better holding in the juicy moisture. There is no better way to prepare an amazing meal.

For its Simplicity

The Superstone® Bread Dome is simple to use and it is surprisingly easy to clean.

How does the Superstone® Bread Dome work?

There is a reason that food cooked in a bread dome and other stoneware tastes so amazing. Stoneware like the Superstone® Bread Dome, are like a small oven in themselves. It traps heat and steam from the food within the bread dome and continues to bake the bread, chicken, roast, etc., to just the right temperature and doneness.

The Best Tips for using the Superstone® Bread Dome

Allow the Hot Bread Dome to Cool on its Own

Allow the dome to cool on its own instead of spraying with cold water. This type of thermal shock could cause cracking to any stoneware.

Uncover While Still Baking

To help increase the crispiness of the crust of the bread, or the outer layer of your chicken or roast, be sure to uncover the dome with about 10 minutes left of baking time.

Once you get your bread dome and you are ready to make the best meal ever, check out some of my favorite recipes and see what you think.

Whole Roasted Chicken - While this recipe isn’t specific to a bread dome, the bread dome will make it even better, I promise! The recipe itself is delicious, but wow the juiciness of the chicken when made in the bread dome is mouth watering.

Pot Roast - While I am a big fan of the Pioneer Woman recipes, that doesn’t mean you can’t change it up a bit. Bake this roast in a Superstone® Bread Dome to make it even better.

And of course, you can’t forget to make a delicious bread to go along with your perfectly roasted chicken or beef. Here are my favorite bread recipes to bake in the bread dome:

Crusty Country Loaf - I am a huge, huge fan of crusty loaf bread. There is just nothing like a crunchy crust while you bite into the soft interior of a delicious loaf of bread.

Traditional French Bread - Not only is this traditional french bread delicious, but my favorite thing about french bread is that absolutely goes with any recipe!
