Kid-Friendly Fall Recipes

Posted by

Fall is the season for delicious treats and dishes. What about recipes that are actually kid-friendly?  This doesn't have to stop with flavor, it can also be something they make with you in the kitchen.

During my quest to find fun recipes to make with my family, I came across a few that I most definitely would like to try. Check out my list below:

Pumpkin Pancakes-There are many different versions of pumpkin pancake recipes from whole grain to traditional.  What about no sugar added pancakes?  Even better, right?  Check out this recipe over at Baby Led Weaning Ideas.  While yes, these are perfect for babies and toddlers as well, they might just be a hit with the older kiddies as well.

Kid-Friendly Apple Pie-This recipe is so easy, kids can most definitely do this one all the while enjoying the end product.  You basically only need: Granny Smith apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, butter, and eggs.  For details, visit Ms. C's Crafty Classroom Ideas.

Kid-Friendly Turkey Chili-You can use the crockpot for this one.  It's a perfect recipe to make together.  Kids get to see all the healthy ingredients that get incorporated into the recipe and it makes for healthy leftovers for those hectic weekly schedules. Check out Eat Your Books on how to make this scrumptious recipe.

Homemade Hot Pockets-This is a freezer-friendly recipe as well.  Kids can get creative with this recipe and the end result is amazing.  This version tastes a lot like pizza.  Two of the main ingredients are sliced ham and shredded or sliced cheese. For directions and ingredients on this recipe, visit The Budget Mama.

Crockpot Caramel Apples, Yes Please!- Making the traditional caramel apples fall treat just got a little easier and more exciting.  Have you ever used your crockpot to make such a delicious treat?  The kids will get a kick out of this too.  Check it out over at A Year of Slowcooking.

With Halloween just around the corner, you may be searching for fun treat recipes to celebrate the day.  Check out Cooking on the Front Burner.  They have a nice list (with pictures) of kid-friendly Halloween treats for everyone to make and enjoy.

What is your favorite kid-friendly fall recipe?  Feel free to share your ideas with us, especially if you don't see it on the list above.
