Things to Write on a Chalkboard

Posted by

Are you looking to get more organized this year? Whether it's with kids school activities or your own activities a helpful tool is a good old fashioned chalkboard.

You can write reminders for homework, sporting events, "feel good" verses and more. How about pitching in ideas for dinner? This is a great way to help with meal planning, especially when you exhaust your own ideas.

Take the idea up a notch and encourage your child to look up their recipe idea and write down the ingredients and directions on the chalkboard. That way you can go shopping together for the ingredients and make it a family activity. You may be thinking why not just take advantage of technology and have your child print out their recipe? While this definitely may be easier and makes a lot more sense, using a chalkboard encourages creativity and even writing skills. It's actually fun to take advantage of classic ideas.

When a chalkboard comes to mind, you may be thinking of those large classroom chalkboards that take up a lot of space. No worries, it's not that kind! It could be 18" across and in length to give you an idea of a chalkboard size you can use and easily hang on the wall in the kitchen.

Chalkboards aren't just plain old square or rectangular shaped either. Why not go for a rooster, robot, dinosaur, or even owl shaped chalkboard to write your recipes on? It makes things more interesting and exciting.

If you have more than one child with a recipe idea, you use different color chalk per kid to personalize their idea. This will make them feel important as well.
