Holiday Gingerbread Cake

Serves four


1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup molasses
3/4 cup water
1 egg
2 1/3 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ginger (ground)
3/4 tsp salt


Preheat oven to 350° F and place silicone gingerbread molds onto a sturdy cookie sheet. Cream together the butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Add the molasses, water, and egg.

In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger and salt; add wet ingredients and beat until combined. Pour mixture into molds.

Bake for 18-22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack and remove from molds. Decorate!
