Easy Made Walnut Apple Pie

4 to 5 large tart apples, peeled and sliced
1½ tbsp of lemon juice
1½ cup of sugar
¾ cup of brown sugar, firmly packed
1 cup of walnuts, chopped
3 tbsp of quick-cooking, or minute, tapioca
½ tsp of ground cinnamon
½ tsp of ground nutmeg
Pastry for double-crust pie (see recipe above)
3 tbsp of butter


Toss apples with lemon juice into a large bowl. Combine the sugars, nuts, tapioca, cinnamon and nutmeg, and add them to the apples and toss to coat. Let the mixture stand for 15 minutes.

Line the Superstone® Deep-Dish Pizza & Pie Baker with bottom pastry; trim even with edge. Add the apple mixture, dab with butter. Roll out the top pastry to fit top of pie, placing it over filling. Trim, seal and flute the edges. Cut slits on top. Cover the edges loosely with foil.

Bake at 400° for 40 to 45 minutes or until the crust is brown and the filling is bubbly. Cool on a wire rack.
