Tips for Hosting the Best Spring Party

Posted by

Oh my goodness, I am extremely ready for Spring. How about you? While I am starting to see some flowers in bloom and I’ve started hearing the birds chirping, I know I still have to wait a few weeks until the weather really starts to show me that spring is here.

The minute that spring arrives though, I am planning to throw a party to celebrate! Have you ever held a spring party, just because? I love just because parties and truthfully, I love when the seasons change and I feel they are well worth celebrating. I am not new to celebrating spring parties and I would love to offer my tips for hosting the best spring party in case you are wanting to host one as well.

Tips for Hosting the Best Spring Party

Make it a Brunch Party

It is spring after all! You want to celebrate the beauty of the outdoors. A proper spring party needs to celebrate the outdoors, which means you need to be able to see outdoors. If you have a nighttime party, the spring party theme makes no sense because you don’t get to enjoy the spring blooms.

That’s why a brunch party is a perfect idea for a spring party! Brunch timing is perfect because the sunshine is bright and the recipes you can enjoy with brunch foods are great for those bright and light spring recipes that taste so amazing.

Here are a couple of my favorites:

I also like to make sure that we have really great appetizers on hand as most spring parties aren’t really focused on a sit down meal. We are so anxious to get up and move around outside, you need snacks that you can eat while you stand. For a stand-up, garden-style spring party, I think a fruit platter and a meat and cheese plate are definite must-haves for your get-together! If you love the idea of offering fruit platters and cheese plates for your party, we have just the tools you need!

These are my favorites that we have here at Sassafras:

  • rectangular baselina board - this beautiful board looks terrific on your buffet or coffee table when serving light appetizers. The cool marble surface prevents your cheeses from over-softening. also use the board to serve crackers, smaller bread loaves or fruits. This one is my favorite!
  • round baselina and mango wood board - this beautiful board is sensational for serving breads, cheeses or pizza. The mango wood is a sustainable wood due to the demand for mangos and the fact that mango trees are designed to be cut down when they stop producing fruit. it is also a beautiful, densely-grained hardwood. paired with the dark marble surface, it is not only striking, but a practical piece that every host or hostess should have in their kitchen.
  • round marble and mango wood board - our bread and cheese boards add an artisan aesthetic to your serving table. The smooth mango wood adopts a weathered patina over time and the marble stands in cool contrast to the warm texture of the wood.

*Care instructions: hand wash only. lightly oil the wood to preserve the wood. These care instructions are for all of our boards.

Decorate Brightly

A brightly decorated party is just what you need to really bring the Spring feelings into your party. Spring is all about color to me. Lovely green colors for the freshly grown grass, flowers in bloom all around us. Spring is all about color! You can easily find awesome tablecloths, napkins and streamers in spring colors, all of which will brighten up the mood of all of the party-goers at your house!
