Thanksgiving Craft Fun

Posted by

Thanksgiving is almost here. Are you looking for craft ideas?  Through the years I have found and executed some amazing crafts with my kids and in the classroom.

My first favorite is hand-print turkeys.  These can be done in a variety of ways. I have always had the kiddies dip or paint one hand brown and then press down evenly onto the paper.  When it dries, draw the feet, add googly eyes, and wattle. You can also make it more exciting by just painting the palm brown and then each finger a feather color like red, orange, yellow, and green.  When the turkeys are dry, ask your child what they are thankful for and write on each feather. I like to laminate ours so that they can be place mats for Thanksgiving dinner.

Footprint Turkey-Much like the handprint idea, have your child paint their foot brown and push down on construction paper.  When dries glue on craft feathers, add googly eyes, and feet.  This turns out super cute!

Paper bag Tee Pee- Purchase brown paper bags and have your child decorate with Native American symbols, pictures of tee pees, etc. For full details on how to put this together along with photo images, click here.

Craft Stick Turkeys-This idea go any way you wish.  It's an idea to get those creative juices flowing. For inspiration, click here.
