St. Patrick's Day Treats for the Entire Family

Posted by

St. Patrick's Day is this Thursday, have any plans to celebrate?  Whether you are Irish or not, it's still fun to celebrate and it's a chance to wear and eat all things green.  Speaking of "eating" homemade St. Patrick's Day treats are an awesome way to involve the kids in the kitchen.  Here are a few easy recipes for you and your family to enjoy.  Remember, think green!

Pot of Gold-Fill up clear plastic cups with fun sugary layers.  The bottom layer: Vanilla Wafers (Gold) Middle layers: Skittles in the colors of the rainbow.  Top layer: Mini Marshmallows (Fluffy white clouds).

Green Pretzel Pops-All you need is a bag of traditional crunch pretzels, white chocolate, green food coloring, sprinkles, and little skewers.  Melt white chocolate wafers or chips according to instructions.  Add green food coloring.  Dip pretzels into chocolate and lay on wax paper.  Put the skewer on the bottom of the pretzel while it's still wet.  Sprinkle with fun colors.  Allow up to 20 minutes to dry.  Presto! A yummy and green treat.

Lucky Charms Rice Krispy Treats-This one is very easy.  Make Rice Krispy treats according to recipe on the box and just add green food coloring and Lucky Charms marshmallows.
