Springtime is Pizza Time

Posted by

Spring is almost here and you know what that means? PIZZA!! Did I really just say pizza?! Yes, I did! Okay, really it’s no surprise that I am a pizza lover, but lately my favorite thing about pizza is how versatile it is! That’s right. Here are just some of the amazing pizza variations that I have tried in recent past:

  • Breakfast pizza
  • Dessert pizza
  • Pizza Pockets
  • Pizza Puffs
  • Grilled Pizza (on the top of my current favorites list)
  • Vegan pizza
  • Mac & Cheese pizza (yes, I'm serious!)
  • Burger Pizza
  • English Muffin Pizza
  • Stuffed pizza
  • Pizza in a cone

Wow! That’s a lot of pizza, right? As it turns out, I have only barely begun to scratch the surface of the pizza eating world. Right now though, I am all about Spring and as such, I have decided to check out some Spring Pizza Recipes to go along with my love for this beautiful season!

I stumbled into this post about the 7 best spring pizzas by Food and Wine and I just couldn’t resist. Truth be told, I like pretty much anything that tastes like spring. You know, light and airy, fruity, refreshing… Maybe I’m just babbling because I am so very ready to start enjoying some nice weather for a change! No more cold, snowy, rainy days for me!

Pizza Recipes

My favorites (that I plan to try ASAP) are…

Sun Dried Tomato and Arugula Pizza - Tomatoes just add a fresh taste to any pizza, don’t you think? I am excited to try this one by AllRecipes

Pizza with Swiss Chard and Bacon - A great recipe by MyRecipes–– I mean, it’s got bacon on it? You can’t go wrong with bacon right?

There are plenty of other ideas in there too for those that are ready to step up their spring, pizza making game.

Regardless of what pizza you chose to make, you can actually use any of our awesome crust recipes from our Traditional Thin Crust Pizza recipes to our Chicago-Style Deep-Dish Pizza recipes.

Here are some of my favorites:

Superstone® BBQ Pizza Stone - this pizza stone has a natural grooved surface for even heat distribution and a fire-proof finish, perfect for making pizza on the grill in the summertime or anytime! the superstone® bbq pizza stone can also be used in any conventional or convection oven, giving this stone the most versatility.

You guys, I wasn’t kidding, I freaking love pizza that has been cooked on the grill. It is hands down my favorite way to cook pizza (other than an authentic pizza oven of course, but I don’t happen to have one of those so….)

superstone® deep dish pizza maker - bring the taste of the windy city home! this generous pan has a nonstick interior and deeper sides for crisp and tender edges, just like at the pizzeria! terrific for deep dish pizza, breads, quiches, or oversized country pies. stoneware with matte glaze and silicone handle grips. recipe booklet included. measures 1.25" deep x 13" diameter plus handles. includes recipes.
