Let's Brighten Up that Decor, Shall We?

How often do you redecorate in your home? Or, maybe you don’t plan to completely redecorate, but maybe just change stuff up a little bit? I like to redecorate with the seasons. Maybe that’s a bit too much, but it helps get me in the right mind space for the new season that is upon us! I don’t change out wall art, curtains or furniture, but I do like to change stuff like bedding and living/dining room decor and tablescapes. It really helps set the mode for a new spring throughout the house, especially since I like to go with brighter colors during the brighter months!
Do you have an open layout home? Open layout homes are great because they allow for easier cohesive decorating. If you have this type of layout in your space, here are some of my favorite tips for cohesive decorating:
- Use Throw Pillows to bring everything together. Use these throw pillows throughout your living space to brighten the color of your furniture and to bring the colors together throughout. Making sure to match the throw pillows to the table linens and any other decor that you use on your dining room table.
- Check out our table linens. We have a beautiful supply of table linens available here at Sassafras. The thing I love the most about them is that they are disposable, so you can keep them as long as you like and it won’t cost an arm and a leg to replace them. Additionally, you can get different designs in similar colors so you can change up your look while still maintaining a cohesive theme in your home. Here are some of my favorites along with what I think would be great decor pieces to bring them all together:
- damascato 39”, 63”, or 55" table covers - our “paper” table linens look, feel and drape just like real linen — without the hassle of washing, drying and ironing! reminiscent of classic damask tablecloth patterns, our damascato line harks back to our mother’s elegant entertaining with beautiful heavy silver and candlelight. - Add some brightly colored solid throw pillows and colorful bouquets of flowers to your decor pieces and this pattern looks amazing!
- editing 39" table covers - for a fun cocktail party or poolside event, our editing pattern is contemporary and colorful. our italian-made “paper” table linens look, feel and drape just like real linen - without the hassle of washing, drying and ironing. perfect for effortless entertaining! and best of all — they're disposable! and recyclable, too. I like these with bold colored flowers as well and since light up or wooden letters seem to be all the rage in decor these days, this fits right in!
- mythos 39" table covers - this gorgeous pattern is beautiful for any elegant event such as a wedding shower, afternoon tea, dinner party, or when dining el fresco. its motif is a contemporary interpretation of classic damask for traditional or more modern table settings. our italian-made “paper” table linens look, feel and drape just like real linen - without the hassle of washing, drying and ironing. perfect for effortless entertaining! and best of all — they're disposable! and recyclable, too. - This set pairs well with whites, golds and silvers which means pair it with some white bouquets, and glassware, candleholders, etc.
- Check out our other table linens too because you might just find some that you are in love with! I know I love them all!
- Go with blinds. I like the clean lines of blinds and I think using them in every room of the home makes it all look uniform. If you aren’t a blinds kind of person though, that’s okay! Just be sure to use the same colors and fabric for curtains and drapes in both rooms.
- Use a throw rug in the dining room that matches your living room. If you have hard floors in your dining room, you might consider getting a throw rug or an accent rug. Just be sure that it matches the colors in your living room or it will look off.
- Use accent pieces. Accent pieces can bring anything together. From stools (don’t forget to check out our awesome supply of stools that we have here!), tables and ottomans to candle holders and vases, an accent piece can be just about anything, but where you use it and the colors you choose can make all the difference. I would totally check
