Five Arts and Science Projects for the Kids

Posted

If you live in a state that calls for lots of snow and/or cold this time of year, you know that it can become a drag after a while. Even the kiddies can get the winter blues and get sick of playing in the cold and snow.

Are you looking for ways to get rid of those winter blues? Combat them with these 5 winter activities. And yes, these are indoor activities.

1. Fun Felt by Sassafras® - imagination time is here! Now your kids can pretend to be in the classroom, or building a skyscraper in our Learning department, complete with chalkboards, growth charts and more!

2. Paint-Your-Own - Sassafras® has a wide assortment or Paint-Your-Own coinbanks and figures

3. Elephant Toothpaste - A fun, foamy experiment by Fun at Home with Kids that only requires a few ingredients, like dry active yeast and Dawn dish soap.

4. 30-Day Science Planner - this planner from Darcy & Brian has loads and loads of easy science projects for your little scientist, like Melting Rainbows, Human Body Bingo, and many more!

5. Science Experiments for Kids to "See" The Sounds - the website I Game Mom, which has an emphasis on STEM research and experiments shares science experiments to help kids “see” sound. This can be part of the curriculum for the 5 senses or physics.

You and your lab partner will need the proper tools: our Cookie Baking Kit, with its measuring cups and spoons, the Deluxe Cookie Set (complete with apron and cookie sheet), or the Tool Kit with Herb Pot are must haves for kids interested in making desserts and experiments with measuring cups and spoons.

We know it's tough to keep the little ones entertained without the constant distraction of videos and loud video games, so we hope these ideas will help.
