Fall is here! Time to say goodbye to all things summer and embrace the goodness and beauty that the fall season brings including apple orchards and cider mills.
Have you planned your trip yet?
If you and your family will be taking a fall trip somewhere, you may consider looking around for an apple orchard or cider mill. It's always fun looking for new and exciting places to celebrate the new season.
Michigan is home to several cider mills and apple orchards. Two of the most popular are Uncle John's Cider Mill in St. Johns and Wiards Orchards and Country Fair.
If you live in or near the state of Pennsylvania, consider visiting Ritter's Cider Mill in Lake Ariel. They offer traditional cider mill goodies such as cider and donuts. Families may also enjoy their petting zoo and hay castle.
For families living in or near Kansas, have you visited the Louisburg Cider Mill in Louisburg? Enjoy their pumpkin patch and corn maze after getting your fill of cider and donuts.
Check for a cider mills nearest you. It may even be worth a weekend road trip with the family.
What about Apple Orchards?
It's definitely a fun family adventure when you can go apple picking through a genuine apple orchard. I found a cool site which lists each state and how many orchards in the area. I am not sure if it has been updated, but it's a great guide to finding an apple orchard local to you. Visit Orange Pippin to start your search.
Cider mills and apple orchards aren't what they used to be. They have added on many amazing fun activities that the whole family can enjoy. From hay rides to haunted barns, etc., the fall season just gets more exciting.
