Easy Peasy Back to School Snacks
Posted on Sep 4th 2015
Many kiddies are headed back to school next week or maybe they have already started the new school year. Either way, have you gotten your snack ideas together?
Whether it's after school snacks or snacks you send off to school with your kiddies, there are fun and yet healthy ideas to keep kids strong and fueled up.
Here are some ideas to help you plan prior to sending your kid back for the new school year.
1. Ants Log- This is one of my kids favorite snack ideas. Basically just cut up celery sticks, spread on some peanut butter or cream cheese and sprinkle on raisins or chocolate chips as the ants. It's a hit!
2.Crabby Apple-This looks like it takes a lot of work, but it's actually easy peasy. To get your child to eat more apples, just slice up an apple to look like a crab. For more ideas what this might look like, visit Canadian Family.
3.Hardboiled Egg Chicks-This is a fun and yummy one. If your child loves eggs, this is one way to take a hardboiled version up a healthy notch. It's super cute too. Visit Grace and Good Eats for more ideas.
4. Rainbow Colors Muffin Tin Snack-What to encourage snacking on the color wheel? This can be achieved with this clever idea using muffin tins. From blueberries to grapes, you can get as creative as you wish. This would be a good after school snack idea as you don't want to send your child to school with muffin tins of snacks. Now onto some unique and fun back to school snack ideas. These ideas I found on Pinterest and can't wait to try them with my kids. These would actually be fun for the kiddies to make too, maybe prior to the next day as they may be too tired to make anything after school.
Apple Sandwiches
This is a fun and creative snack providing your child does not have any peanut allergies. You can find alternatives if need be. Thinly slice an apple or a variety of colored apples (red, green, etc.) in circles. Spread on peanut butter, sprinkle granola and raisins and stack. These just may grab your child's attention. And yes! It's healthy.
Banana on a Stick
Take bananas up a notch by cutting them in half. Roll in cheerios and cinnamon and place on a skewer or stick. Drizzling honey may even make it more scrumptious.
Butterfly Snacks
Here is a good one to send your kiddie off to school with. Not only is it super cute, it's absolutely adorable for the younger crowd. All you need are some sandwich baggies, goldfish crackers, and grapes. Or you can change it up to your child's liking. Visit Juggling With Kids for pictures of this snack.
