Our Favorite Apple Recipes for Fall

Posted by

It’s fall, y’all! Have you started to get into the fall mode yet? I have been having an absolute blast decorating my house for fall and my daughter and I cannot stop baking! It’s finally cool enough to fire up the oven and there are just so many yummy things to eat!

Our Favorite Apple Recipes for Fall

Did you know that there are over 2500 varieties of apples grown in the United States? That’s a lot of apples! I recently read that the Gala apples have recently unseated Red Delicious as the most popular apple sold, but Granny Smith apples are still hanging on in 3rd place. That means there are a lot of baked goodies out there being made, because we all know that Granny Smith apples are the best apples for a delicious apple treat.

I feel pretty lucky because I have several apple trees outside and I am basically drowning in Granny Smiths over here. You know what that means? All of our Fall baking is centered around these apples. I sure do hope all of my friends, family and neighbors love apple goodies because I am about to be a dessert delivery person over here.

Dutch Cheese Apple Pie

When people say “Deep Dish Pie” you can bet that in their mind, they are thinking of the delicious Dutch Cheese Apple Pie. The flavors in this pie might just be my favorite flavor combination ever.

Apple Coffee Cake with Crumb Topping

If you are a coffee cake lover, this recipe for Apple Coffee Cake with Crumb Topping is going to blow your mind! This recipe is great for dessert, breakfast, or brunch.

Apple nachos with peanut butter and chocolate

Let’s mix it up a bit, shall we? These apple nachos with peanut butter and chocolate are going to be a wildly different dessert option, but boy are they good! There is no baking involved with this recipe, but the kids are going to absolutely love them!

Dried Apple Slices

One thing I love about having fruit trees and a garden at home is the ability to preserve large amounts of food for use throughout the year. One way that I do this is by drying fruits. This recipe for Dried Apple Slices is a great way to make use of extra apples and to keep the kids snacking happy for months to come.

Apple Butter

I haven’t had apple butter since I was a child in my grandmother’s kitchen. Since I ended up with so many apples this year, I decided that I would finally bring it back into my life and oh my gosh was it worth it!

Caramel Apple Pancakes

You know, you can easily treat yourself to dessert for breakfast. That’s right. These Caramel Apple Pancakes will make the breakfast or brunch table the best place to be.

Apple Sage Stuffing

Okay, this one isn’t a dessert recipe, but it’s delicious and screams Fall! Plus, Thanksgiving is coming soon and this Apple Sage Stuffing will be a wonderful addition to your Thanksgiving table.

Tools Needed To Make The Best Apple Recipes For Fall

You simply cannot make great apple goodies without the right tools. Here are the must haves we keep on hand for all of our favorite apple recipes.

sassafras superstone® stoneware pie and pizza baker with red glaze and unglazed interior

The material in this pie baker heats evenly, which produces a perfectly browned pie crust. In addition, the fact that the interior is unglazed allows moisture to be pulled from the dough which means you are going to have a perfectly light and flaky crust.

superstone® deep dish pizza/pie baker

This deep dish pie baker is a more basic version of the glazed colorful version, but since it is a deep dish baker, it is perfect for the dutch cheese apple pie.

wood-handle offset spatula

You cannot serve a pie correctly without the right spatula! That’s why you need a wedge shaped one like this. It allows you to serve up pie pieces that are just the right size and shape!

I hope you have the most fun baking this Fall, my friends. For us, these apple baking and cooking adventures were just too a-peel-ing to turn down.
