10 ways to use silicone molds

Posted by

Have you ever wondered how to effectively use silicone molds without messes and mess ups? For examples, baking cakes, banana bread, sand molds, art projects, etc. Maybe you have never used silicone molds, but would like to try it out. They are amazing as they are non-stick and flexible! They also come in a variety of colors.

Here are 10 ways to use silicone molds that I think you may find beneficial:

  1. Go with smaller molds vs. larger silicone molds. These do much better than that of bigger baking pans. Keep in mind this can go for art projects as well!
  2. Matching sets are fun
  3. If you would prefer to mix and match it's also beneficial for baking.
  4. If you do use the larger silicone molds, it might be best to grease those just in case. This can make a difference in the outcome of your  baking for example cakes and breads.
  5. If you want your molds to clean easier, use baking and cooking sprays before pouring any batters into them. A damp cloth easily cleans away food. You can then wash them properly with dish soap and water.
  6. If you choose not to grease your pans before use, just soaking them in soapy dish water will do the trick.
  7. You can multitask using silicone molds. Use them for more then just baking. Remember those art projects I mentioned?  Maybe you want to make a sand mold, these are fun for those activities as well.
  8. Save space by stacking by size. This is perfect for any kitchen big or small.
  9. Sometimes you might have to use metal for baking needs, but if all possible try sticking with your silicone molds.
  10. Multitask serving-Use the smaller molds for snacks like candies, nuts, etc. Great for parties!
